Community Impact / The Society

We know of no other community that has a service program quite like the St. Louis Peregrine Society. Serving over 3,000 clients annually, the Peregrine Society fills in gaps that exist in most heath insurance programs - and do it at no cost to the client.

For instance, transportation for radiation cans chemotherapy treatments are offered via a local cab company with the Peregrine Society picking up the tab. Last year over 4,000 trips were provided.

Nutritional supplements like Ensure or Boost are often required for cancer patients but not covered by insurance, In 2007, the Peregrine Society distinguished over 275,000 cans of supplement which would cost the patient around $1 per can retail.

Relieving the patient and their families of costs like those described above allows them to cover necessities such as utility, rent and food.
