Special Programs - Holiday

The Peregrine Society offers Christmas holiday gift baskets to 150 or more of its neediest client families. The gift box includes a gift certificate to Schnuck's Supermarkets, handmade afghans and lap robes., toys for children in the family and a special gift for the adult patient.

Volunteers wrap, package and deliver the gifts to the home of each client enrolled in the Christmas holiday program.

 

 

Children's Program

Since 1990 the Peregrine Society has organized and sponsored a trip to Branson, Missouri for children with cancer. Children from St. Louis Children's Hospital and Cardinal Glennon Hospital for Children enjoy a fun-filled three day weekend with their parents and siblings.

About 100 people leave St. Louis on a Sunday morning in May and return Monday evening. In between, they experience Silver Dollar City and marvel at talented performers at venues like the Dixie Stampede, Presley Country Jubilee and Jim Stafford Show.

One purpose of this event is to give the families the opportunity to enjoy themselves leaving their troubles at home and do so at no cost to themselves. All costs for transportation, food, lodging and entertainment are covered by the Peregrine Society.

An equally important benefit of the weekend trip is the opportunity for families to bond with others who are undergoing a similar experience and challenge.
